The Emerging Education Professionals Leadership Program
(EEPLP) is designed to provide an intensive curriculum for
current assistant principals, heads of subjects, senior teachers
and emerging education professionals aspiring to become world
class education professionals and leaders. Participants are
selected based on an application process that requires recommendations
from their principal. Participants may also apply on their
own initiative and would have to go through simple evaluation
process conducted online and phone interviews.
The transition from the classroom to administration is a
difficult one. The EELP will help participants develop and
sustain their leadership, management and instructional leadership
skills. This is an important initiative to help establish
a pool of competent and confident school leaders for the
future.
The curriculum includes self-knowledge assessments, leadership
development, instructional leadership, self-improvement,
media relations and policy issues. Methods of instruction
for the programme will include group field experiences, book
studies, professional action planning, case studies, simulations,
assessment instruments, and journals. |
This is a programme designed to provide leadership skills
and competencies to education professionals serving in leadership
positions. Many times they are asked to lead other educators
through a programme or process. Quite often they have not
had the opportunity to develop and refine their leadership
skills. It gives them that opportunity. This programme also
provides foundation in leadership that can assist in the
transition to administrative positions.
The curriculum is designed around high levels of participant
involvement, self-analysis, research-based practices, current
professional literature, and opportunities that apply learning
to local districts.
Topics includes leadership skills and styles, critical communication,
marketing strategies, dynamics of change, capacity building,
effective use of technology, and organizational management. |
